As a member of their Cell Engineering Team, you'll play a pivotal role in powering the future of their products. In this role, you'll have the autonomy to drive forward our ambitious goals, supported by the resources of a rapidly growing brand in the construction sector. Your responsibilities will include spearheading the establishment of a Design Center of Excellence, collaborating closely with various engineering disciplines to bring innovative concepts to life. You'll lead a team of dedicated engineers, overseeing everything from site selection and equipment procurement to prototype development and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive day-to-day activities to achieve program objectives, including site selection, equipment procurement, and team recruitment.
  • Oversee site readiness and equipment operation, managing vendor relationships and project schedules.
  • Lead equipment buyoff and training activities, ensuring smooth integration into project timelines.
  • Champion the development and introduction of new product innovations, managing pilot production and reporting key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate across departments and business units to establish processes and execute strategic directions.
  • Embrace a "fail fast" mentality, rapidly iterating on prototypes and identifying design trade-offs to drive solutions.
  • Mentor technical leads in engineering best practices and project management techniques.
  • Build and motivate a high-performing team of engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience in equipment design, facility layout, and cross-functional project delivery.
  • 10+ years of experience in prototyping concepts and/or establishing small-scale production facilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to navigate complex project trade-offs and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in design and manufacturing, with operations knowledge.
  • Proficiency in electrochemical analysis techniques and cell prototyping equipment.
  • Familiarity with battery, motors, and power tools.
